Women's Wellness Day
Women’s Wellness Day is a free event with the sole objective of celebrating of our local women. The aim of the event is to provide women with a day of rejuvenation and positive social interaction.
The day includes topical speakers, massage therapy, manicures, facials, demonstrations (such as depression management, healthy eating, relaxation techniques), refreshments and service providers on hand to discuss mental health and relationship issues. Health screenings and a variety of hands-on demonstrations will focus on overall well being and also raise awareness of services available to women in the area.
The day is an opportunity for women to relax and enjoy each other’s company in an open and safe environment.

As the event went on, the sun showed up as well and our guest speaker Benita Bensch from Moonie took the listeners on a journey of how to cultivate the best version of yourself, following her path of becoming a mother. Benita has many hats.
Trevor Robertson Community Relations Managerfrom Senex, Steven Coughan from Jemena gave an update of current work status for the local work sites and ongoing community contributions, such as this event.
The yearly drawcard of Lisa Kennedy’s fashion show was another highlight. It was followed by QCWA Country Kitchen demonstration.
The event’s final highlight was the drawing of the winner for the Multi draw raffle. Thanks to the sponsors and the kind donations of the stall holders, many went home with some great prizes. Proceeds will go towards next years Women’s Wellness Day event.

2019
Growing in size from previous years, the 2019 Women’s Wellness Day had around 250 attendees and 30 stall holders through the doors. The attendees were treated to two fantastic guest speakers, Jodi Wood and Janelle Burns, whose topical discussion focused on stress, eating well, personal experiences and emotional, physical and mental health and well being.
Various demonstrations were on offer including Road Warriors Vehicle Maintenance, Lisa Kennedy Collections Fashion Parade, CWA Cooking Demonstrations and Pilates with Rowena Gill.
The gorgeous Ludwig & Will Coffee Van provided guests with specialty coffee and exquisite drinks all day. A pack of mouth-watering biscuits was provided by Maces for morning tea along with a delicious lunch from Miles IGA.
The entire hall was thick with the scent of roses thanks to the donation from the Murilla Garden Club, Maureen Statham and Sharon Colley. How lovely it was to see them blooming in the middle of this drought. Thank-you to our sponsors Jemena, Senex, Spiecapag and Valmec because without their assistance, the event would not have been delivered to such a high standard.

2018
On 2018 Women’s Wellness Day was a day jammed packed with interesting speakers and demonstrations.
Basic car maintenance, health advice, fashion shows, inspiring speakers and adventures on the high seas!
There were many stalls to check out and the usual free lunch.
Once again ladies received a gift bag, a $20 voucher (to spend at the stalls on the day or a local business later) and a sample bottle of Browns Brothers wine. The 2018 event was once again a very successful day achieving its goal of pampering and social interaction for the women of Miles and surrounding areas.
